Testimonial #12

This patient presents after previous rhinoplasty that resulting in severe pinching of the nasal tip and nasal valve collapse. The patient also had collapse in the middle third of the nose and deviation.

When I first met Dr. Toriumi I was very nervous. This was because I had been to several doctors that refused my case because of the complexity of it. I had been told he was the best doctor for rhinoplasty from another renowned surgeon in Florida who too, refused my case.

Let me back up a moment and explain. I have a history of having MRSA (methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus). While the MRSA did not take my life, it did ruin the cartilage in my nose. My nose was slowing sliding off of my face and much to my horror was becoming more and more evident in the mirror!

It was very clear from our first meeting that Dr. Toriumi was intelligent, articulate and the perfect surgeon for me. Dr. Toriumi put my fears to ease and explained to me very specifically about my surgery and the reconstruction of my nose. He spoke very respectfully and addressed every concern that I had. Dr. Toriumi even returned my phone call later when I had more questions!

I understood that my surgery was complex. Dr. Toriumi would need to remove cartilage from my rib to reconstruct my nose from the lack of structure caused by the MRSA.

The surgery went very well. It is now almost a year later and my nose looks wonderful. Dr. Toriumi has made my nose very proportional to my face and I get compliments on my cute, little feminine nose often. Every time I look in the mirror I smile at the confident, beautiful girl I see smiling back at me. Thank you Dr. Toriumi you are an excellent doctor and wonderful person!
