Testimonial #21

This patient underwent three previous surgeries with severe damage due to a previous infected implant. The skin was severely damaged and the underlying cartilage structure was deformed. The patient underwent a complex reconstruction with rib cartilage grafting to lengthen her nose and correct the many irregularities. She has healed nicely and has improved nasal breathing.

My testimonial is quite simple: After my second rhinoplasty surgery, I incurred a serious infection that couldn’t be controlled by antibiotics. After stopping the antibiotics the infection broke through the skin surface causing deformity to my nose cartilage and skin. During the third surgery a piece of Gortex was removed allowing my nose to heal with the help of antibiotics. The surgeon told me to wait three years before attempting corrective surgery. Because of the fear I postponed my surgery for 10 years before beginning my research to find the best rhinoplasty surgeon available. During this very cautious process I met quite a few top surgeons in this field but they told me there were only two surgeons capable of this type of corrective surgery involving the use of rib cartledge. After my first interview with Dr. Toriumi I knew that I finally found the best rhinoplasty surgeon available. Dr. Toriumi performed corrective surgery in July 09 and I could not be happier with the results.
